What BlackBerry is supported with Wireless Merchant?

Wireless Merchant supports all BlackBerries modules with operating system 4.1 and above that is 87XX, 81XX, 83XX, 88XX and above series. Back to Questions

What are the minimum requirements for Wireless Merchant?

While you require a 4.1 OS for the BlackBerry you also require any Pentium 3 or higher computer (Microsoft) with any router, internet connectivity, Wireless Merchant Software, Tender Retail Software(comes with Wireless Merchant), Sage ACCPAC ERP or Sage Business Vision (if integration Order/invoicing software). Do I require a BES Server (Blackberry Enterprise Server) in order to run Wireless Merchant?

No even though Wireless Merchant will run on a BES Server it is not required as we have created our own server software to talk to the BlackBerry and Accounting Software that is just as secure and effective as a BES Server. Back to Questions

Do I need to have Sage Accounting Systems in order to process invoices?

No it is not required to have a Sage Accounting System as we do offer the ability to create an access database to import into the BlackBerry, however their will be no audit trail back to the database for accounting or tax purposes. Back to Questions

Wireless Merchant integrates to Sage ACCPAC ERP versions 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5 and Sage Businessvision 7.2. Back to Questions

What modules do I require with Sage Accounting?

If you are using Sage ACCPAC ERP you can either user just the Accounts Receivable with Price List or you can use Accounts Receivable with Order Entry and Inventory Control. With Sage Business Vision you will require the Accounts Receivable, Order Entry and Inventory modules. Back to Questions

How do I print a credit card receipt or invoice?

While Wireless Merchant has integrated to many Bluetooth printers our primary device has been with the BIXOLON/Samsung mini printer with swipe unit (see under hardware). Back to Questions

Do I have to have the credit card software in order to process invoices or orders?

No it is not mandatory to have the credit card piece of Wireless Merchant, this is only if you expect to accept any type of payment for invoices or orders. Back to Questions

Do I require a merchant account to accept credit cards?

Yes you do require a merchant account with your bank. While most businesses that accept credit card payments already have a merchant account you can add new terminal ID's for your Wireless Merchant BlackBerry unit. Back to Questions

Do I need a different merchant account and ID for each BlackBerry?

You can use the same merchant account but will require a separate ID for each BlackBerry as the BlackBerry unit acts exactly as a regular stationary terminal. Back to Questions

Do I have to perform cash out on my BlackBerry in order to end my day for my credit cards?

No Tender Retail will automatically process at midnight the day end function for each terminal. Back to Questions

How long do I have to wait for the money to get into my account if I process credit cards with Wireless Merchant?

Usually it is processed the very next day into your merchant bank account specified with your merchant number. Back to Questions

What happens if I want to process an invoice/order or credit card and I don't have any wireless connection on my BlackBerry?

Unfortunately we can't process credit cards without connectivity however you can store any Quote, Order or Invoice on the BlackBerry until you get back into range to send it via the wireless network. Back to Questions

No as long as you have a data package on your BlackBerry Wireless Merchant should work on any network. Back to Questions

We are currently working on wireless printers with Smartcard capabilities, however you can still enter the card manually but will be charges a higher merchant rate if not swiped. Back to Questions

With Wireless Merchant and Tender Retail are there any other hidden fees?

While Wireless Merchant and Tender Retail are a monthly fee to the end user the only other fees you will be charged is your standard merchant fees you negotiate with your processor, you will not be charged for reports or additional per transaction fees with Wireless Merchant. Back to Questions

How fast is the processing of invoices and credit cards on the BlackBerry?

Depending on the number of items you have on the Order or Invoice it will take up to 15 seconds to process, the credit cards will process usually within 5 seconds. However we can't determine process time depending on wireless connection there is a timeout at 2 minutes and you will have to retry the process again. Back to Questions

Is there a limit of Items and Customers I can have on my BlackBerry?

Yes there is a limit of approximately 30,000 combined items and clients you have on a BlackBerry with Wireless Merchant. Back to Questions
